<br /> 5. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY
<br /> Mayor Ira switched the order of the two the Special Orders of the Day and began with
<br /> the Target Family Days Check Presentation first.
<br /> A. Partnership Academy for Community Teamwork (PACT) Graduation
<br /> Ceremony - Malcolm Smith, Public Communications Manager
<br /> Mayor Ira expressed his appreciation for the 38 graduates. He said he has received
<br /> emails in support of this program and spoke about the need for their passion and
<br /> involvement.
<br /> Vice Mayor Aguirre spoke on behalf of the Council and thanked everyone for their work
<br /> over the last 9 months in building relationships with each other and staff, and their hope
<br /> that they will continue to build on them. Mr. Smith handed out certificates of recognition
<br /> to those who were able to attend. The names of all graduates were: Mary Albitz, Kristin
<br /> Anderson, Bryan Beck, Jayita Bhojwani, Eric Biland, John Brownfield, Patrick Cornwall,
<br /> Stephanie Corrales, Colton Daines, Aaron D'Souza, Nohema Fernandez, Dan Fillin,
<br /> Paul Giordano, Paulette Giovannoni, Jon Goldman, Helen Gotelli, Christopher
<br /> Gounarides, Thea Henry-Hamilton, Bryan Jacobs, Roger McComas, Lynne McDonald,
<br /> Mary Ann Michaels, Russell Narahara, Mark O'Malley, Laura Oseguera, Rahila Passi,
<br /> Bonnie Patterson, Jonathan Pedley, Jeri Richardson-Daines, Susan Sanchez, Judy
<br /> Schwartz, Steven Schwegel, Pat Sehl, Paul Soby, George Trager, Holly Van Houten,
<br /> Thomas Williams, Carole Lynn Wong. The full Council congratulated the group that
<br /> completed this training.
<br /> Mayor Ira reiterated his appreciation of the PACT program. He noted that next Monday,
<br /> they will begin proposed budget deliberations and they need people's help, comments,
<br /> and involvement.
<br /> B. Target Family Days Check Presentation — Jeannie Young, Redevelopment
<br /> Project Manager
<br /> Ms. Young spoke about Target Family Days and introduced Mr. Jerrad Fanucchi and
<br /> Ms. Joanne Wong, executive team leaders at the local Target Store. They spoke about
<br /> the funds and volunteer work Target Corporation has donated over the years for various
<br /> educational, art, and social programs and events. They plan to continue to partner with
<br /> Redwood City and value supporting the community and presented a $30,000 check to
<br /> the City for the Target Family Days program. There will be three events this year for
<br /> families and fun in July, August, and September with different themes.
<br /> Mayor Ira expressed appreciation for their support, noted that their work is unique and a
<br /> great complement to what the City is doing, and that it could not be done without their
<br /> support.
