Mayor Ira thanked Mr. Ingram and staff for <br /> their hard work and the tough choices. <br /> M/S Pierce/Foust to extend the meeting until 11:40 p.m. Motion carried unanimously <br /> by voice vote. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Nirmala Dillman, from the San Mateo County Office of Education, spoke about the <br /> importance of what Kristen Anderson the Child Care Coordinator does. She said there <br /> is a public safety aspect to this and spoke about the need for the type of work and <br /> knowledge Ms. Anderson has because there is no oversight and no one else does what <br /> she does. <br /> Tippy Irwin, director of Ombudsman Services of San Mateo County, spoke in support of <br /> their partnership with the Veterans Memorial Senior Center and the Parks, Recreation, <br /> and Community Services Department. She shared some statistical information and <br /> said that any cuts would require they to lay off staff and be unable to monitor facilities to <br /> same extent.
