6.3.B. - Page 3 <br /> ATTACHMENT A <br /> SUCCESSOR AGENCY RESOLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY APPROVING AND ADOPTING BY-LAWS OF THE SUCCESSOR <br /> AGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, under AB 1X 26, enacted by the California State Legislature and <br /> signed by the Governor as part of the 2011-2012 State budget, a new Part 1.85 was <br /> added to Division 24 of the California Health and Safety Code (Health and Safety Code <br /> Section 34170 et seq., as may be amended, the "Dissolution Act") and, in accordance <br /> therewith, all redevelopment agencies in the State of California, including the Redwood <br /> City Redevelopment Agency ("Redevelopment Agency"), were dissolved as of February <br /> 1, 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, in compliance with the Dissolution Act, the City of Redwood City <br /> ("City") determined it would serve as the Successor Agency to the Redwood City <br /> Redevelopment Agency ("Successor Agency") effective February 1, 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, AB 1484, enacted by the California State Legislature and signed by <br /> the Governor as part of the 2012-2013 State budget, amended the Dissolution Act, and <br /> declared that the Successor Agency is a separate legal entity from the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of this clarified or redefined legal status, it is important to <br /> establish a separate operating framework to distinguish between actions of the <br /> Successor Agency and actions of the City. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE REDWOOD CITY <br /> REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> The By-Laws of the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the City <br /> of Redwood City (form dated 08/20/2012) are hereby approved and adopted. <br /> * * * <br /> ATTY/RE50.2782/APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE BY-LAWS OF THE SUCCESOR AGENCY <br /> REV:08-28-12 VR <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br />
