6.1.A. - Page 65 <br /> Jeff Dunn, Commodore representing the Peninsula Yacht Club, believes their building is <br /> iconic and there is great, positive community there with the cleanup and preservation of <br /> the creek. He expressed appreciation in being involved and opined being connected to <br /> downtown would be fabulous and he wishes more people would get out to see this <br /> jewel. <br /> Dr. Bell said that staff will come back with a plan in September and discuss the specific <br /> area. He also noted that the primary and key stakeholders terminology is merely to <br /> show that staff wants to cast the net really wide. The framework will be brought back <br /> and the list of stakeholders. The Mayor thanked all those present tonight. <br /> (This is a summary of the discussion. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> -Council Member Seybert reported that he and Council Members Foust and Pierce <br /> serve on the YMCA/Partnership Committee and had a fruitful meeting on June 7. A <br /> survey is being developed and the next meeting is in the Fall. He was impressed <br /> with all the attendees and the development of the process. <br /> -Mayor Aguirre attended the Carne Assada Festival event on Saturday and there <br /> were about 10,000 people there. She also attended the Palo Alto Amateur Radio <br /> event and it was very interesting and there were many residents in attendance. <br /> -Council Member Foust reported on the Downtown Retail Taskforce that met with <br /> other business owners and they are discussing how to go out and approach <br /> potential retailers to get the downtown activated. <br /> -Mayor Aguirre said that the Ad Hoc Committee for the Port is composed of Vice <br /> Mayor Gee and Council Member Ira. <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update — None <br /> D. Designation of Voting Delegate and Alternate to the League of <br /> California Cities' Conference <br /> M/S Seybert/Foust to appoint Mayor Aguirre as the voting delegate and Council <br /> Member Pierce as the alternate delegate to the League of CA Cities conference. <br /> Motion carried 6-0 with Council Member Ira absent. MINUTE ORDER 12-139 <br /> 11.
