City may audit the records and <br /> accounts of Contractor for the purpose af verifying expenditur�s by Cantractor of <br /> fur�ds provided by City pursuant to this Agreement or verifying statements or <br /> analyses made or prov�ded �y Contractar under this Agreement. Contractor will <br /> promptly respond to, and comply with, any audit exception made ar taken by City <br /> or apprapriate federaf agencies relating to Cantractor's performance or failure to <br /> perform under this Agreement. Cantractor will, upon demand by City, pay Cify <br /> the full amount owing to City or ta the United States Government as a result af <br /> any such audit exception. <br /> City will monitor Contractor's Praject and expenditures made pursuant to <br /> this Agreement quarterly to verify Cantractor's compliance with this Agreement <br /> and local and federal contract r�quirements. Contractar shall cooperate with City <br /> and provide all documents and informa#ion requested by City in a timely and <br /> accurate fashion. <br /> 9. RECORD RETENTION. Contractor shall retain all financial, <br /> s�apporting documents, statistical records, and all otl�er records pertinent to the <br /> Agreement far a period of fo�r (4} years. Tf�e retention period begins on the date <br /> of the submission of the City's Comp�ehensive Annual Performanc� & Evaluation <br /> Report (CAPER) to HUD in which the activities assisted under the Agreement are <br /> reparted on for the finaf time. Natwithstanding the abo�e, if there is iitigation, <br /> claims, audits, negotiations or other actions that in�alve any af the records c�ted, <br /> and that have started befor� the expiration of the four-year periad, then such <br /> recards must be r�tained until completion of the actions and resoiution af all <br /> issues, or the expiration of the fiour year period, whiehe�er accurs later. <br /> 10. ACCESS TO RECORDS.
