6.1.E. - Page 147 <br /> 8. CITY AUDIT� MONITORlNG. Cify may audit th� records and <br /> accounts of Contractor far the purpose of verifying expenditures by Contractor of <br /> funds provided by City pursuant to this Agre�ment or verifying statements or <br /> analyses made or �rovided by Contractar under this Agreement. Contractor will <br /> promptly respond to, and comply with, any audit exception made or taken by City <br /> or appropriate federal agencies relating to Cor�tractor's perforrr�ance or failure to <br /> perform under this Agreement. Co�tractor will, upon demand by Ci#y, pay City <br /> the fuli amount owing ta City or to the United States Government as a result of <br /> any such audit exceptian. <br /> City will monitor Contractor's Proj�ct and expenditures made pursuant to <br /> this Agreement quarterly to ��rifiy Contractor's compfiance with this Agreemer�t <br /> and local and federal contract requirements. Contractar shall cooperate witt� City <br /> and provide all documents and informatian requested by City in a timeiy and <br /> accurate fashion. <br /> 9. RECQRD R�T�NTION. Contractor shall retain all financial, <br /> supporting documents, statistical recards, and all other records pertine�t to the <br /> Agreement for a period of four {4) years. The reter�tion period begins an the date <br /> of the submission of the City's Camprehensive Annual Performance & Evaluation <br /> Report (CAPER) to HUD in which the activities assisted under the Agreement are <br /> reported on for the final time. Notwithstanding the above, if there is litigation, <br /> claims, audits, negotiations or other actinns that invoi�e any of the records cited, <br /> and that have started before the expiration af the four-year perio�, then such <br /> records must be retained until completion of the actions and resafution of all <br /> issues, or the expiration of t�e faur year period, whiche�er occurs later. <br /> 10. ACCESS TO RECORDS.
