6.1.E. - Page 169 8. CITY AUD1T; MONITORING. City may audit the records and accounts of Cantractar for the purpose af verifying expenditures by Contractor af funds provided by City pursuant to #his Agreement or verifying statements or anafyses made or provided by Cantractor under this Agre�ment. Cantractor will promptly respand to, and camply with, a�y audit exception mad� or taken by City or appropriate federal agencies relating to Contractar's psrformance or failure to perform under t�is Agreement. Contractor will, upon demand by City, pay City the full amount owing to City or to the United States Government as a result of any such audit exception. City will monitor Cantractor's Praject and expenditures made pursuant to #his Agreement quarterly to verify Contractor's campliance with this Agreement and loca! and federal cor�tract requirements. Contractor shall coop�rate with City and provide all documents and information requested by City in a timely and accurate fashian. 9. RECORD RETENTION. Contractor s�►ail retain all financial, supparting documents, statistical records, and all other recards pertinent fo th� Agreement for a period of faur (4} years. The retention period begins on the date of the submissian of the City's Comprahensi�e Annual Performance & Evaluatian Report (CAPER} to HUD in which fihe activities assisted under the Agreement are repart�d on far the final time. Notwithstanding the above, if there is litigation, claims, audits, negotiations or other actions that involve any of the records cited, and that ha�e started before the expiration of the faur-year p�riod, then such records must be retained until completion of the actions and resolution of all issues, or the expiration of the four year period, whiche�er occurs la#er. 10. ACC�SS TO RECORDS.
