City may audit the records and <br /> accaunts of Con#ractor for the purpose of�erifying �xpenditures by Contractor o# <br /> funds provided by City pursuant to this Agreement or verifying statements or <br /> analyses made or pro�ided by Confractor under this Agreement. Contractor wilf <br /> promptly respond to, and comply with, any audit exception made or taken by Ci#y <br /> or appropriate federal agencies relating ta Contractar's performance ar #ailure to <br /> perform under this Agreement. Contractor wili, upon demand by City, pay City <br /> the full amount owing to City or to the United States Government as a result of <br /> any such audit exception. <br /> City will monitor Contractor's Project and expenditures made pursuant to <br /> this Agreement quarterly to verify Cantractor's compliance with this Agreement <br /> and local and federal contract requirements. Contractor shall coaperate with City <br /> and provide all documents and information r�quested by City in a timely and <br /> accurate fashinn. <br /> 9. RECORD RETENTION. Contractar shall retain afl financial, <br /> supporting documents, statisticaR records, and all other records pertinent to the <br /> Agreement for a period of four (4} years. The retention period begins on the date <br /> of the submission of the City's Comprehensive Annual Performance & E�a�uatian <br /> Report (CAPER) to HUD in which the aetiviti�s assisted under the Agreem�nt are <br /> reported on for the final time. Notwithstanding the above, if there is litigation, <br /> claims, audits, negotiations ar other actions that ir�volve ar�y of #he records cited, <br /> and tF�at have started befare the expiration af the four-year periad, then such <br /> r�cords must be retained until completion of the actions and resolution of all <br /> issues, or the expiration o�the four year period, whichever occurs later. <br /> 10. ACCESS T4 RECORDS.
