7.A. - Page 5
CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BYRNE JUSTICE ASSITANCE GRANT FUNDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Redwood City will hold a public
hearing on the application for $16,773 in federal grant funds. These funds are
awarded through the Byrne Justice Assistance Grants. The funds must be used
for front line law enforcement services; including personnel, equipment, and
programs necessary to meet police service needs within Redwood City. The City
Council will consider the application submitted by the Chief of Police for the
funds.
It will be the recommendation of the Chief of Police that this year's award be
allocated to the purchase of police equipment, specifically for the purchase of
duty weapon lights and holsters for sworn personnel. The weapon lights will
mount on recently purchased handguns.
You are invited to comment on the proposed expenditure at a public hearing to
be held on the 24th day of September, 2012, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or soon
thereafter, at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City California.
Testimony must either be given in person at the time of the public hearing or
received, in writing, by the Police Department prior to the date of the hearing.
Testimony cannot be given over the phone.
If you have any questions, please contact Sergeant Steve Blanc by telephone at
(650) 780-7143.
