5. SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY A. Recognition: San Mateo County Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA) - the Social Media/Entertainment Innovator Award of Excellence for 2012 Award Winner - Lisa Marino, Chief Executive Officer of RockYou (handled after item 5.B). B. Proclamation: 75th Anniversary of the Port - Mike Giari, Port Director and various Port Commissioners Mayor Aguirre began with item 5.B and she called Port Commissioners Dick Claire and Lorianna Kastrop to the podium to receive the proclamation. Ms. Kastrop also thanked the Council for this recognition and congratulated the Council on the great partnership it enjoys with the Port. Mr. Claire spoke about the Port being an economic engine and a great recreation conduit. He invited the community to the upcoming celebration on Saturday June 22, 2012. He noted that the US Potomac will be on the Port for this event. Ms. Lisa Marino entered the Council Chambers. Mayor Aguirre, presented the recognition to Lisa Marino with RockYou. Ms. Marino addressed the Council and thanked Redwood City for the commercial work the City has done with her company. C. Proclamation: Honoring Richard Del Ben, Sr., for 45 years of dedicated service to the community - Bill Ekern, Community Development Director Mayor Aguirre invited her Council colleagues to join her at the podium to recognize 45- years of dedicated work to the City of Redwood City. Mr. Ekern, stated that the city relies on him for sage advice, and he values his contributions. Mayor Aguirre presented Mr. Del Ben Sr. with a celebratory proclamation. Mr. Kyaw, Public Works Assistant Director, followed by presenting him with a gift from the Public Works Department. Mr. Del Ben Sr. addressed the Council, family, co-workers and residents stating that he appreciates the opportunity to be of service. He said he has seen many changes, and he values seeing these and he still wants to work for this service organization and he hopes to be here a lot longer. Mayor Aguirre, thanked him for the words and acknowledged his lovely family. She also acknowledged Port Commissioner Ralph Garcia who was present. One Council Member thanked Mr. Del Ben for his thoughtful and direct approach. 6. PUBLIC COMMENT AND CONSENT CALENDAR There was no public comment. M/S Bain/Ira to approve the Consent Calendar as presented. Motion carried 7-0 by electronic vote. 1.
