Dr. Bell thanked the <br /> Executive Team and the City staff for all their team work and collaboration. Dr. Bell <br /> thanked Mr. Beth in particular for all he has done to maintain entertainment downtown. <br /> Dr. Bell covered what is in store for 2012 which includes: Woodside/Middlefield Road <br /> project; Main Street Dog Park; reintroducing PACT (partnership Academy for <br /> Community Teamwork); Park Renovations at Jardin de Ninos and Mezes Park; Depot <br /> Circle and the negotiation of a Development Agreement; Five Guys Restaurant <br /> downtown; Inner Harbor Precise Plan process; more shared services with San Carlos <br /> and other areas with local jurisdictions; City-YMCA partnership for a joint community <br /> center; implementation of Phase II of the Water Recycling Program; a Youth Agenda <br /> pilot program in collaboration with the School District; expansion of Library Services <br /> especially in North Fair Oaks and Redwood Shores; and Physical Education Plus <br /> classes for 5,000 children. <br /> 10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member(s) Report(s) of Conference/Meeting Attendance <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> - Council Member Seybert noted the shoe drive by Matt Gamez, and he was <br /> touched by the article on Spectrum. <br /> - Council Member Pierce thanked the Redwood City community who supported <br /> the measure for the schools and it will be a great thing for our community, kids <br /> and our future. <br /> - Council Member Foust thanked Council Members Pierce and Seybert for their <br /> work on Measure W. She also thanked Mayor Aguirre for representing Redwood <br /> City so well when President Obama came to Redwood City. <br /> - Vice Mayor Gee said that he and Council Member Pierce attended the Youth for <br /> Jobs event and Employment for Youth Opportunities and Redwood City received <br /> two awards. <br /> - Mayor Aguirre spoke about the Memorial Day celebration at Sequoia Cemetery <br /> which is a real gem. She thanked the committee that organized the event and <br /> she really appreciated. Mayor Aguirre also attended four graduations and she <br /> finds it amazing when people graduate and start to look for jobs. She attended <br /> the Retail Task Force started last week and she has had the first meeting and <br /> Council Member Foust and the Mayor will serve. She noted this was a diverse <br /> group of stakeholders. <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update — None <br /> 11.
