5. SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY <br /> A. Presentation of check to Redwood City Public Library - Georgi <br /> LaBerge, Executive Director, Redwood City Library Foundation, and <br /> Dave Genesy, Library Director by Arnoldo Arreola, President of the <br /> Latino Community Council of Redwood City (LCCRC) and <br /> representative of the Kermes Committee <br /> Arnoldo Arreola, President of the LCCRC, introduced and acknowledged members of <br /> each organization and thanked all the businesses that contributed. He also noted that a <br /> signed book from a young author Israel Contreras Cervantes, author of Aguillila Sus <br /> Hombres Y Su Historia was presented. Mr. Arreola introduced all the members from <br /> the Latino Community Council present. Georgi LaBerge, Executive Director of the <br /> Library Foundation, said this was one of the most interesting and rewarding projects <br /> and substantial funds were raised. Ms. La Berge also introduced members of the <br /> Library Foundation. Ms. La Berge said that last year the LCCRC donated $16,000 and <br /> this is a great group to work with and it is making a real impact. Mr. Arreolo thanked <br /> Mayor Aguirre and Circulo Cultural for all their work in this front. Library Division <br /> Manager Kramer thanked the LLCRC for this year's donation of$20,027.00. Ms. La <br /> Berge said that this has been a great year for the Library Foundation and she provided <br /> a list of impressive accomplishments. Mayor Aguirre thanked Carla for organizing the <br /> Kermes which raised many of these funds. <br /> B. Recognition of Rocket Fuel Inc. - George John, Chief Executive Officer <br /> and Kiwoba Allaire, Executive Assistant/Office Manager <br /> Mayor Aguirre recognized this company for its ingenuity and presence in our <br /> community. A clip was shown on what this company does (on file). She had a tour of the <br /> company and was impressed with the human capital and the work that gets done there. <br /> Mr. John, a resident of Redwood City, thanked Council for this honor and said it is a <br /> pleasure being a member of this community and as a business he has always felt the <br /> support of the City. Ms. Allaire addressed the Council and community and announced <br /> that they have jobs available for those who meet certain criteria. She spoke highly of <br /> Mayor Aguirre. <br /> C. Swearing in of Boards, Commissions and Committee Members - Silvia <br /> Vonderlinden, City Clerk — Multiple Boards Commissions and Committees' <br /> Members were sworn in. <br /> 6. PUBLIC COMMENT AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> M/S Seybert/Ira to approve the Consent Calendar excluding 6.3A.
