One Council Member said she had hoped for more of a solution befinreen the <br /> community and the developer. She said that honestly seven years to get this <br /> approved is too long and she had hoped for more movement and agreement. <br /> She thought she had signed up for something that builds community and not <br /> angers community. Vice Mayor Gee said that this is a process and Council is <br /> here to try and enable it. Motion carried 7-0 by electronic vote. <br /> M/S Ira/Seybert to approve the Vesting Tentative Map. Motion carried 7-0 by <br /> electronic vote. <br /> 9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> Mayor Aguirre reported on attending a ribbon cutting ceremony at PDI Dreamworks for <br /> expanding its facilities and she was presented with a book on Madagascar III. She will <br /> be donating the book to the North Fair Oaks Library. <br /> Council Member Bain attended a meeting a group titled "Matching Cities" and this time <br /> the presentation was on eco districts and making our neighborhoods more sustainable. <br /> Mayor Aguirre offered Council Member Bain the opportunity to share the material at a <br /> future Council meeting. <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update — thanked Bill, PACT and the Fall Clean <br /> day, General Plan award won the State Award <br /> Dr. Bell thanked Mr. Ekern and Mr. Harkness for their work on the Finger Avenue issue. <br /> He also announced that Partnership Academy for Community Teamwork (PACT) will <br /> start this Wednesday. Furthermore, he announced that the Fall Clean-Up is coming up <br /> on Saturday. He was also proud to announce that the City's General Plan won the <br /> Northern California Award. <br /> Mayor Aguirre recognizes that tomorrow is the 9/11 anniversary and she mentioned <br /> some events commemorating this event. She also noted that Fiestas Patrias, Target <br /> Days and other events are coming up. <br /> Council Member Jeff Ira noted that the Utilities Committee is well aware of the creeks' <br /> issue and plans to study it. He said this will be a massive endeavor since there are <br /> general creeks and culverts to be looked at. From his perspective this will be a major <br /> initiative in terms of time, financial investment, and policy deliberation but he did want <br /> the Council to know this is in the horizon. <br /> Council Member Foust announced the economic dashboard and she asked everyone to <br /> check it out. She thanked the Economic Development subcommittee, Susan Barnes <br /> and City Manager Dr. Bell.
