At the end, a group photo was taken, and the City Council thanked the <br /> participants for beautifying the community and showing pride in making Redwood <br /> City an even greater place. <br /> 6. PUBLIC COMMENT AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Pat Brown, on behalf of Redwood City 2020, invited members of City Council and the <br /> public to attend a free upcoming event on October 5th from 5 to 7 p.m. The event <br /> celebrates diversity in our community. Redwood City 2020 is sponsoring this exhibit at <br /> the gallery annex located next to the Spaghetti Factory for the month of October. She <br /> thanked Council Member Barbara Pierce for her work on the steering committee and <br /> noted that Mayor Aguirre and Vice Mayor Gee are also featured in the exhibit. <br /> Barbara Ranes declined to speak and said she will be back on October 8th regarding <br /> traffic control issues. <br /> Connie Guerrero, Vice Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services invited <br /> everyone in the community to the 75th Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br /> Anniversary Gala event on October 18th at the Fox Theater. She spoke of the <br /> importance of parks in the community and to her family and she wants everyone to know <br /> that there will be lots of things happening in October as a kick off for whole year. She <br /> said the VIP reception is from 6 to 7:30 pm with Love Fool performing at 8 p.m. and that <br /> proceeds will go to the new nonprofit Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation. Tickets <br /> may be purchased through the Fox Theater website at rwcfox.com. <br /> M/S Bain/Foust to approve the consent calendar. Motion carries by electronic vote <br /> with three Council Members absent (Ira, Pierce and Seybert). <br /> 1. Section - Motion(s) <br /> A.
