6.1.A. - Page 3 <br /> their third annual "Making Dreams Come True" on November 15t" from 6 to 8:30 pm. <br /> They said their goal is to promote hope and provide funds for scholarships for seniors to <br /> go to college. The two young ladies made themselves available to answer any <br /> questions, sell tickets, or accept donations. <br /> James Jonas related a situation that highlighted the concerns and impacts from a quake <br /> and a tsunami even with a warning system. He gave statistical information on the <br /> probability of such situations occurring based on studies released by the State of <br /> California and spoke in favor of more attention, notification of the public, community <br /> engagement, public safety as addressed in the General Plan, and working together to <br /> find a solution. <br /> Nancy Radcliffe invited everyone to the Haunting at Union Cemetery - the first such <br /> event on October 27t" organized by for City Trees, Redwood City International, and the <br /> Union Cemetery Association, for adults only, from 5- 8 p.m. this upcoming Saturday. <br /> James Jonas commented on the proposed change in regulation for block parties and for <br /> special events because he was thinking of having one. He opined that it makes sense <br /> to clean up the regulations in regards to public areas, but had questions and concerns <br /> as to how the regulations pertain to private and commercial spaces and number of <br /> attendees. <br /> One Council Member asked if staff could respond. Ms. Thompson noted that the block <br /> party section did not change at all but she would confirm that. If that is not the case she <br /> will bring back an amendment and some other language. <br /> Motion carried 6-0 by electronic vote with Council Member Bain absent. <br /> CITY COUNCIL: Waive reading of the consent calendar and the full text of ordinances <br /> and resolutions, and approve the Consent Calendar items. <br /> 1.
