EXHIBIT"A" <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> Background <br /> Formed in the summer of 2010, the Immigrant Youth Action Team (IYAT) is comprised of youth and <br /> adults working to increase the visibility, actions of, and resources for our immigrant youth in the <br /> Redwood City and North Fair Oaks community. For the 2012-13-program year, IYAT will function as a <br /> group under the auspices of Redwood City 2020 (RWC2020) and will senre as a resource and partner <br /> to the Redwood City Together Initiative (RWCT). <br /> Structure <br /> IYAT will be convened and facilitated by a youth and adult convener who will serve as the first points <br /> of contact for the group. For 2012-2013, the adult convener will be Jane Slater, who will identify a <br /> youth co-convener for the new school year. A RWC2020 liaison to IYAT will be contracted to provide <br /> support to the co-conveners and coordinate efforts with RWCT and RWC2020 overall. A core <br /> objective for the 2012-13 school year will be to solidify the base of IYAT at Sequoia while expanding <br /> opportunities for other schools and potential partners in our community to learn from the lessons of <br /> IYAT efforts to date. <br /> Redwood City 2020 IYAT Liaison <br /> The RWC2020 IYAT Liaison will support the IYAT and coordinate activities and communication with <br /> the RWCT Coordinator and will report to the RWC2020 Executive Director. Functions of the IYAT <br /> Liaison will include: <br /> 1. Provide meeting planning support to IYAT conveners by helping conveners draft meeting <br /> agendas, creating meeting summaries, helping conveners publicize activities as events, and <br /> maintaining IYAT archives and materials. <br /> 2. Serve as the lead event planner to IYAT leaders for the"Making Dreams Come True"event in <br /> the fall of 2012, which includes helping IYAT conveners track and support subcommittees and <br /> maintaining the overall written plan for the event. <br /> 3. Attend IYAT monthly meetings, and keep the IYAT listserv current. <br /> 4. Facilitate areas for collaboration between IYAT and RWCT in consultation with RWC Together <br /> Coordinator. <br /> 5. Manage the IYAT program budget, write reports, and identify potential funding opportunities to <br /> support IYAT activities. <br /> Deliverables <br /> The Redwood City 2020 IYAT Liaison is expected to: <br /> • Brief summaries of each IYAT meeting. <br /> • End of the year summary of IYAT accomplishments and lessons learned to RWC2020 <br /> Executive Director <br /> • Detailed document of IYAT fall event logistics and planning. <br /> • Excel spreadsheet of program budget expenses and related report to Silicon Valley <br /> Community Foundation <br /> • Prepared, collected and summarized evaluations of IYAT events. <br /> • Regular short updates to RWCT Steering Committee <br /> This position will require an average of 4 hours of work per week over an 8-month period with time <br /> applied approximately as follows: <br /> • 1 hours per week in meeting prep and follow up <br /> • 1 hour per week in communications (email, presentations, etc.) <br /> • 2 hours per week in event and activity planning with various partners (including greater <br /> Canada College inroads) <br /> ATTY/AGR/2012.106/RWC 2020 LILY CAMPOS IYAT 2012-13 <br /> REV:08-15-12 PT <br /> Page 4 of 4 <br />
