<br /> I <br /> 5\LA-3 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE <br /> FILING OF AN A~PLlCATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE PER <br /> CAPITA GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN <br /> WATER, CLEAN AIR, ~AFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND <br /> COASTAL PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 <br /> WHEREAS. the people of the State of California have enacted the California <br /> Clean Water. Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 <br /> which provides funds for the Per Capita Grant Program which assists in the acquisition <br /> and development of neighborhood. community, and regional parks and recreation lands <br /> and facilities (the "Grant Program"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation (the <br /> "Department") has been delegated with the responsibility of administrating the Grant <br /> Program within the State; and <br /> WHEREAS. the Grant Program procedures established by the Department <br /> require the governing body of a Grant Program applicant to certify, by resolution. the <br /> approval of the filing of an application for the Grant Program allocation; and <br /> -- <br /> WHEREAS. if awarded a Grant Program allocation, The City will enter into a <br /> contract with the State of California for a specific project that is to be funded by the <br /> grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City desires to participate in <br /> the Grant Program and apply for a Grant Program allocation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. That the filing of an application for local assistance funds from the Per Capita <br /> Grant Program under the California Clean Water, Clean Air. Safe Neighborhood <br /> Parks and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 is hereby approved. <br /> 2. That the City certifies that it has or will have sufficient funds to operate and <br /> maintain any specific project that is to be funded by the Grant Program. <br /> 3. That the City certifies that it has reviewed, understands, and agrees to the <br /> general provisions contained in the contract shown in the Procedural Guide. a <br /> - copy of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk. <br /> Atty/Reso/Reso .1445 <br /> 010204 <br />
