<br /> I <br />- <br /> January 12, 2004 <br /> Subject <br /> Final Acceptance - 2002-2003 Slurry Seal Project <br /> Recommendation <br /> Accept the 2002-2003 Slurry Seal Project. and authorize the release of Payment Bond <br /> and retention to Graham Contractors. Inc. <br /> Background <br /> As part of the continuous Roadway Improvement Program, approximately 253,000 <br /> square yards of roadway was resurfaced with slurry seal. <br /> On July 28, 2003, the City Council awarded the construction contract for 2002-2003 <br /> Slurry Seal Project to Graham Contractors, Inc. of San Jose. Califomia. for their low bid <br /> of $262.635.30. <br /> The project has been successfully completed in accordance with the Plans and <br /> Specifications for a total cost of $201.112.67. One change order was issued for a total <br />- credit of ($61.522.63), which represents 23.4% of the original bid price. This change <br /> order is for the adjustment of quantities. <br /> Alternatives <br /> Do not accept the 2002-2003 Slurry Seal Project. which would be contrary to prior <br /> Council action. <br /> Fiscal Impacts <br /> Funds in the amount of $1.1 million were appropriated in the 2002-2003 Capital <br /> Improvement Program budget as part of the Gas Tax Construction and Transportation <br /> (Measure "A") Funds for the Roadway Management System. <br />~~~~~~~~~ <br /> M.
