[] BFI has been in contact with the University of Califomia Cooperative <br /> Extension about the possibilities of coordinating "home composting" <br /> seminars for the community. Members of the Extension program, BFI <br /> staff and County Leaders could join together with the community to <br /> assure maximum source reduction and recycling in the JPA communi- <br /> ties. <br /> <br />We believe that working together with community leaders, BFI and the educational <br />community will increase awareness of the importance of recycling and waste <br />reduction. We are confident that we will achieve high participation rates by persuad- <br />ing residents to recycle their yard waste. Our confidence is based on our successful <br />communications program over the past five years involving our curbside and <br />commercial recycling programs. <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
