Middlefield, and the Caltrain tracks in the City of Redwood City (the "Project"); <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in connection with the Project, preparation of an <br />Environmental Impact Report ("EIR") is required pursuant to the California <br />Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"; Pub. Res. Code [i21000 et seq.), the State <br />Guidelines implementive thereof ("State CEQA Guidelines"; 14 CCR [115000, et <br />seq.) and the Agency's Regulations implementive thereof; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Agency's regulations, Agency has determined <br />that said environmental studies and documentation shall be prepared pursuant <br />to contract entered into with Consultant subject to funding therefor by the <br />Developers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in addition to the preparation of an EIR for the Project, <br />Consultant shall prepare an Economic Impact Analysis which, although not <br />legally required under the aegis of CEQA, shall also be prepared pursuant to <br />contract entered into with Consultant subject to funding therefor by said <br />Developers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Developers have deposited with Agency the estimated <br />fees and costs to be incurred pursuant to said Agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, preparation of an EIR and Economic Impact Analysis is <br />required to provide Agency's decision-making bodies with an objective <br />determination of impacts caused by the Project; and <br /> <br />Agmt-274 2 <br />G:~shared\Redwood\Cou ncil <br />FXS:djk <br />06~25~99 <br />06/30/99R <br /> <br /> <br />
