2. Status Contract Employee shall serve at the pleasure of the City manager, subject to the terms and conditions hereof, and shall not acquire a property interest in employment or a right to continuing employment with the City of Redwood City. The terms, covenants and conditions of Contract Employee's employment the City are expressly limited by and to the terms, covenants and conditions of the Agreement. 3. Compensations a. Rate - Contract Employee shall be compensated for the performance of the above described services at the rate of $4,284.00 Dollars per month. Payment of such compensation shall be made bi-weekly. Contract Employee shall be paid for approved overtime, at the rate of time and one-half for time worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work/week. b. Benefits - Contract Employee shall be entitled to the following benefits: PERS Retirement: Contract Employee shall be entitled to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System. The City will contribute both the employee and the employer's portion of the PERS contribution. State Disability Insurance: Contract Employee shall be entitled to participate in the State Disability Insurance Program. Applicable: ,~ Yes No Mileage: Mileage reimbursement shall be at the prevailing IRS rate for travel requested and authorized by the City. Recognized Holidays: City shall provide paid holidays as listed in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and incorporated by this reference. Bereavement Leave: Contract Employee may be absent with pay up to three (3) consecutive days (four (4) days if required to travel over 300 miles one way) available upon commencement of employment because of a death in Contract Employee's immediate family. Sick Leave: Contract Employee shall accrue sick leave on a monthly basis at a rate of one day each month of service up to a total of 12 days per year. Sick leave shall be available after six (6) months of service. Contract Employee shall not be paid not unused sick leave.
