5. SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY A. Proclamation: Celebrating Sea Scouts' 100t" Anniversary - Mike Marzano, Skipper and Myles Blackmon, Youth Member of Sea Scout Ship Gryphon Mayor Aguirre thanked the Sea Scouts for 100 years of incorporating our youth into our community and especially the activities they do using the Port area of Redwood City. The Skipper thanked the Council and the community for this opportunity to be recognized. He thanked Mr. Giari for being their landlord. A Sea Scout thanked the Council for this honor and he said he has learned much from being a Sea Scout and he is grateful for the life experience he has gained. B. Partnership Academy for Community Teamwork (PACT) Graduation Ceremony - Malcolm Smith, Public Communications Manager Mayor Aguirre welcomed the PACT graduating class of 2012 and provided some historical facts. Vice Mayor Gee thanked the participants for the time and investment they have made in the City of Redwood City. The full Council joined the Mayor and Vice Mayor and presented each of the participants with a certificate of recognition. There was an opportunity for a group photo. The Mayor announced that the next PACT class will be in September 2013. C. Golden Oar Award — Multiple recipients including Nancy Radcliffe, Planning Commission Member, Pat Worthington, President of BIAC (Bair Island Aquatic Center), and Mike Giari, Executive Director of the Port of Redwood City Mayor Aguirre recognized those who were part of the rowing race at the PortFest of Redwood City. She acknowledged that the Planning Commission won the Golden Oar Award and she expressed her appreciation for the Foster City and San Mateo staff who participated. Mr. Giari, Port Executive Director, said that the PortFest attracted many people and he was happy to participate on the race for the first time. Ms. Nancy Radcliffe thanked all participants and appreciated the support by the Bay Area Aquatic Club. She noted that this was a win/win for all. 6. PUBLIC COMMENT AND CONSENT CALENDAR M/S Seybert/Pierce to approve the Consent Calendar. Mike Mielke and Michelle Lindeman, re�resenting the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and Brocade, invited everyone to the 8t annual Applied Materials' Turkey Trot. He said this is a fun community event that raises funds for charities with thousands of volunteers and special types of various races for children, and donations, including canned foods will be accepted. Michelle Lindeman said this is the 4th annual Brocade Mayor's Cup Race that takes place within the Turkey Trot race. She invited the City Council, the City Manager and the Planning Commission to register, participate, and represent Redwood City at this great event.
