5. SPECIAL ORDER(S) OF THE DAY <br /> A. Proclamation: Celebrating Sea Scouts' 100t" Anniversary - Mike <br /> Marzano, Skipper and Myles Blackmon, Youth Member of Sea Scout Ship <br /> Gryphon <br /> Mayor Aguirre thanked the Sea Scouts for 100 years of incorporating our youth into our <br /> community and especially the activities they do using the Port area of Redwood City. The <br /> Skipper thanked the Council and the community for this opportunity to be recognized. He <br /> thanked Mr. Giari for being their landlord. A Sea Scout thanked the Council for this honor and <br /> he said he has learned much from being a Sea Scout and he is grateful for the life experience <br /> he has gained. <br /> B. Partnership Academy for Community Teamwork (PACT) Graduation <br /> Ceremony - Malcolm Smith, Public Communications Manager <br /> Mayor Aguirre welcomed the PACT graduating class of 2012 and provided some historical facts. <br /> Vice Mayor Gee thanked the participants for the time and investment they have made in the City <br /> of Redwood City. The full Council joined the Mayor and Vice Mayor and presented each of the <br /> participants with a certificate of recognition. There was an opportunity for a group photo. The <br /> Mayor announced that the next PACT class will be in September 2013. <br /> C. Golden Oar Award — Multiple recipients including Nancy Radcliffe, <br /> Planning Commission Member, Pat Worthington, President of BIAC (Bair <br /> Island Aquatic Center), and Mike Giari, Executive Director of the Port of <br /> Redwood City <br /> Mayor Aguirre recognized those who were part of the rowing race at the PortFest of Redwood <br /> City. She acknowledged that the Planning Commission won the Golden Oar Award and she <br /> expressed her appreciation for the Foster City and San Mateo staff who participated. Mr. Giari, <br /> Port Executive Director, said that the PortFest attracted many people and he was happy to <br /> participate on the race for the first time. Ms. Nancy Radcliffe thanked all participants and <br /> appreciated the support by the Bay Area Aquatic Club. She noted that this was a win/win for all. <br /> 6. PUBLIC COMMENT AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> M/S Seybert/Pierce to approve the Consent Calendar. <br /> Mike Mielke and Michelle Lindeman, re�resenting the Silicon Valley Leadership Group <br /> and Brocade, invited everyone to the 8t annual Applied Materials' Turkey Trot. He said <br /> this is a fun community event that raises funds for charities with thousands of volunteers <br /> and special types of various races for children, and donations, including canned foods <br /> will be accepted. Michelle Lindeman said this is the 4th annual Brocade Mayor's Cup <br /> Race that takes place within the Turkey Trot race.
