OJ . PROPOSAL! AGREEMENT It is understood that this contract is limited to the monitoring of an asbestos abatement project to be conducted at MSC Warehouse located at 1400 Broadway, Redwood City, California. ProTech's proposes to provide asbestos-related consulting services as fol1ows: 1. Pre-job meeting 2. Pre-abatement monitoring and containment inspections. 3. On site project monitoring and area PCM air monitoring/analysis during abatement. 4. Post abatement visual inspections and final air monitoring. 5. Project close-out report. PROPOSED SERVICES ProTech proposes to provide labor, materials, and services as follows: SECTION 1 . PRE.JOB ACTIVITIES: 1.1 Pre-Construction Conference: Prior to construction, ProTech wilJ meet with the Owner, asbestos abatement contractor and others as needed to discuss project details, review pre-job submittal and work plans, and to confirm scheduling and project phasing. SECTION 2. PRE-ABATEMENT SERVICES: 2.1 BackgroundlPre-Abatement Air Monitoring Pre-abatement air monitoring wiU be conducted to establish baseline airborne fibrous dust levels in and around the asbestos abatement work area. Samples will be taken unifonnly over the entire work area to assure effective representation. Results of these samples may be used to help anticipate proper respiratory protection, to provide comparative data for area air monitoring, and to help establish final air clearance criteria. Sample analysis will be conducted by Phase Contrast Microscopy, NIOSH method 7400. 2.2 Inspection of Work Area Prior To Abatement An inspection of the work areas will be conducted prior to the commencement of asbestos abatement activities. The inspection will be conducted with the contractor's competent person to verify that the work area has been properly prepared. The inspection includes but is not necessarily limited to the structural integrity of the enclosure system, function and operation of engineering controls, posting of warning signs. SECTION 3 . ABATEMENT MONITORING: 3.1 Project Area Air Monitoring ProTech will conduct full-shift area air monitoring during asbestos abatement to detect fauUs in the work area isolation and/or engineering controls such as: . Contamination outside of the asbestos work area. . Failure of fj Itrati on to provide adequate negative pressure. . Contamination of the extetior of the building with airborne asbestos fibers.
