7.A. - Page 21 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY ADOPTING AN AMNESTY PROGRAM FOR INSTALLATION OF <br /> BACKFLOW PREVENTERS AND FEES FOR THE CROSS- <br /> CONNECTION CONTROL PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, as a public water supplier, the City of Redwood City is required by <br /> state law to protect its water supply from contamination, by adopting and enforcing a <br /> cross-connection control program; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary for the city to actively enforce its cross-connection <br /> control program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of the an amnesty program of waiving certain fees for a <br /> limited period is to encourage property owners to install backflow preventers in order to <br /> safeguard the public water supply and public health; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Adoption of Fees: <br /> Pursuant to Redwood City Municipal Code Chapter 38 Article VII Section 60 the <br /> following fees are hereby adopted: <br /> Administrative Fee: <br /> (Registration Fee and Annual Test Result/Record Filing Fee): <br /> $60.00 per address for initial registration and $60.00 per backflow assembly for annual <br /> testing result/record filing fee <br /> Operational Testing Fee (Testing by City): $60.00 per backflow preventer <br /> Inspection Fee: $100 per hr. minimum charge '/ hr. <br /> SECTION 2. Residential Cross-connection Control Amnesty Program. <br /> The following residential amnesty program is hereby adopted to award and encourage <br /> residential property owners to install backflow preventers where required and to register <br /> their property with the City pursuant to Chapter 38, Article VII of the Redwood City <br /> ATTY/RES0.2817/BACKFLOW FEES AND AMNESTY PROGRAM <br /> REV:01-09-13 PT <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br />
