Redwood City 2020 is a Community Collaborative that coordinates the delivery of services to <br /> children, youth and families living in the City of Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, an unincorparated area <br /> adjacent to Redwood City. Redwood City 2020 is made up of eight partners, including City of Redwood City, <br /> Redwood City Elementary School District, Sequoia Union High School District, County of San Mateo Health and <br /> Human Services, Sequoia Healthcare District, John W. Gardner Center for Youth and their Communities — <br /> Stanford University, Kaiser Permanente, and First 5 of San Mateo County to provide leadership and oversight <br /> necessary to develop a coordinated approach to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and youth <br /> living within the attendance area of the Redwood City School District and provide valuable resources to families <br /> so they can be successful primary caregivers to their children. <br /> B. City serves as fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020 and as such contracts for services required by <br /> Redwood City 2020. <br /> C. Redwood City 2020 desires to collaborate with BACR to recruit and train an AmeriCorps <br /> Member to implement greenhouse gas reduction programs. <br /> D. The Parties and the Americorps Member specifically acknowledge and agree that the Americorps <br /> Member is not an employee of the City of Redwood City or Redwood City 2020 and is not entitled to, and does <br /> not obtain,any rights,privileges or benefits as those conferred upon Redwood City employees. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants contained herein, the <br /> Parties agree as follows: <br /> ARTICLE I—BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES <br /> BACR is collaborating with public and nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area to recruit, train, <br /> and place AmeriCorps Members at public and nonprofit organizations, where they will assist in implementing <br /> greenhouse gas reduction programs. The Members' term of service is from October 1, 2012 to Aug. 23, 2013. <br /> While working for the Host Agency, Members will complete 1700 hours to receive an education award of$5,500. <br /> During their term of service, members will implement programs that save energy, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) <br /> emissions, and raise community engagement within environmental awareness activities. Members will devote an <br /> average of 32 hours per week to training for and directly working on emissions reduction projects, and an average <br /> of 8 hours per week to recruiting and supporting volunteers. If a member is unable to complete their full 1700 <br /> hours by August 23rd due to any unforeseen circumstances during their term they may, at the discretion of BACR <br /> and the agency, be allowed time to complete their hours at the agency, or at another approved agency where there <br /> are service opportunities available.
