6.1.E. - Page 4 <br /> I. BACKGROUND AND MOU OBJECTIVES <br /> The Project scope consists of design and replacement of the existing Playfield at the <br /> Fair Oaks Elementary School, 2950 Fair Oaks Avenue, Unincorporated Redwood City. <br /> The roles and responsibilities of the parties are set forth below: <br /> 1. Proiect Fundinq Obliqations <br /> a. The Project scope consists of design and replacement of the existing <br /> Playfield at the Fair Oaks Elementary School, 2950 Fair Oaks Avenue, <br /> Unincorporated Redwood City. The work will involve activities associated <br /> with improving the field drainage system and replacing the existing synthetic <br /> turf with new synthetic turf. The Project is estimated to cost a total of <br /> $575,000, which includes required architectural services and allowances for <br /> project contingencies. The Parties agree to fund the Project in the amounts <br /> shown below: <br /> City of Redwood City County of San <br /> Redwood School District Mateo TOTAL <br /> City <br /> Capital Capital Community <br /> Improvement Improvement Fund Development Block <br /> Fund Grant (CDBG) <br /> $300,000 $200,000 $75,000 $575,000 <br /> b. The City shall act as construction manager for the Project, and shall take lead <br /> responsibilities for securing Project consultants, including the architect and <br /> engineers, administering the bidding process, negotiating with the successful <br /> construction contractor, monitoring the construction process on behalf of the <br /> parties to this Agreement, and undertaking other necessary activities to <br /> complete the Project. District, as property owner, shall be responsible for any <br /> and all liability, loss, expense, attorneys' fees, claims or litigation relating to or <br /> arising out of the Project and Playfield. <br /> c. Should the cost to complete the Project be greater than the estimated amount <br /> of $575,000, District as property owner shall be responsible for securing any <br /> additional funding to complete the Project. The City's maximum contribution <br /> to the Project shall not exceed $300,000. <br /> d. The construction plans will be prepared at the City's direction and be provided <br /> to the District. <br /> e.
