EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The John W. Gardner Center will partner with the Sequoia Teen Resource Center
(STRC), Redwood City 2020 (RWC 2020), and service providers that serve students at
the STRC to conduct an analysis of a survey taken by all students accessing STRC
services in 2011/2012. This survey includes four categories with 1-4 questions each, for
a total of ten outcomes that were jointly agreed upon by all STRC partners.
The resulting 2011-12 school year report will differ from the 2010-11 school year report
in that it will: (1) Link STRC participation information to Sequoia High School
administrative records; (2) Compare students responses to the outcome statements at
the start and end of their participation; (3) Link high school student responses on the
outcome statements to their prior responses on the Middle School survey; (4) Link high
school student responses on the outcome statements to their prior participation in
community school programs; and (5) [If the optional component is included] Align
responses to the outcome statements with students' high school academic progress.
Although the report will not allow contractor to determine the causal impact of STRC
programs on student outcomes, it will provide important descriptive information aligning
students' views with their STRC participation and changes over the year in their views.
Where possible, we will conduct subgroup analyses, comparing different groups of
students (e.g., English learners to non-English learners) and also students who
participated in the different STRC programs.
ATTY/AGR/2012.189/JOHN W.GARDNER CENTER FOR YOUTH ANd THEIR COMMUNITIES,STANFORD UNIVERSITY
REV: 12-04-12 PT
