Cumulative Health Risk Screening Analysis for Costco Wholesale Redwood City GDF.
Commission, the Draft EIS/EIR is expected to be released in Spring 2012 with the final EIS/EIR released by the end of 2012[Capital
Projects Program-Project Fact Sheet: Dumbarton Rail Corridor, February 2012,available at http://www.alamedactc.org/
app_pages/view/4681 (accessed March 22,2012)].
8. California High Speed Rail passenger service is proposed to be electrically powered within the Caltrain rail corridor. Therefore,
emissions of diesel particulate exhaust are not expected from this service.
9. Based on review of the City of Redwood City's Current Projects list, there are no additional approved or proposed projects within the
city that would emit TACs within 1,000 feet of the project. The City of Redwood City's Current Projects list is available at pubgis.
redwoodcity.org/gis/CityProjectsLaunch.aspx(accessed July 27,2012). The proposed GDF expansion is located in the southwest
corner of Parcel No.053-390-020(APN).
10. The County of San Mateo approved the North Fair Oaks Community Plan Update on November 15,2011. The Plan changes the land
use designation for one parcel(warehouse/office use)located within 1,000 feet of the Costco Redwood City GDF from General
Industrial to Commercial Mixed Use(industrial uses requiring discretionary approval of a Conditional Use Permit by the County.) No
specific projects are identified in the Community Plan or evaluated in the EIR for the Plan. As indicated in the EIR,potential new
stationary sources of TACs would be subject to regulation and evaluation by the Bay Area AQMD. Since funding commitments are not yet in place to allow electrification of the Caltrain system to proceed, the Cumulative Health Risk
Screening Analysis does not reflect Caltrain electrification. The estimated reduction in cumulative health risks associated with
Caltrain electrification in 2025(based on information presented in Table C-4)therefore is presented separately.
Page 5 Date: 7/30/2012
