The agreemen# must commit the �articipating jurisdictions to develop at least <br /> ane year-round shelter within two years of the beginning of the housing element planning <br /> periad. For example, jurisdictions in Southern California Association af Go�ernments {SCAG) <br /> region with a statutory due date of.�une 30, 20a8 wnuld nee� to ensure the de�elopment af <br /> shelter(s) �y June 30, 2010. To utilize �his pravision, local gavernments must adopt an <br /> agreement that allacates a portian af the new shelter capacity to each jurisdicfion as credit <br /> towards the jurisdictian's emergency shelter need.
