<br /> 25.8- S (Emer�encv Shelter) Combinin� District.
<br /> A. In order to comply with California Government Code sections 65582, 65583(a)(4)(a), and
<br /> 65589.5 by permittin� emer�ency shelters as a matter of ri�ht, the letter "S" may be added
<br /> as a suffix to any zonin� district.
<br /> B. Permitted Uses. In addition to the permitted uses of the underlyin� district, emer�ency
<br /> shelters shall be permitted in the Emer�encv Shelter combinin� district.
<br /> C. Use Standards.
<br /> 1. The emer�ency shelter provider/operator shall have a written mana�ement plan
<br /> includin�, as applicable, provisions for staff trainin�, nei�hborhood outreach,
<br /> transportation issues, securitv, screenin� to ensure compatibilitv of residents with
<br /> services provided at the facilitv, and trainin�, counselin�, and treatment pro�rams for
<br /> residents.
<br /> 2. An emer�encv shelter shall contain a maximum of 50 beds and shall serve no more than
<br /> 50 homeless persons at any one time.
<br /> 3. Occupancv bv an individual or familv mav not exceed 180 consecutive davs unless the
<br /> mana�ement plan provides for lon�er residencv bv those enrolled and re�ularlv
<br /> participatin� in a trainin� or rehabilitation pro�ram. Services shall be provided to assist
<br /> residents to obtain permanent shelter, income, and services. No individual or household
<br /> mav be denied emer�encv shelter because of an inabilitv to pav.
