Sidewalk Required. All proiects shall incorporate publiclv accessible sidewalks alon� all <br /> streets. Sidewalk width shall be as shown in Table 54-2 of Section 54.5. <br /> 1. Minimum sidewalk width — measurement. Minimum sidewalk width shall be measured <br /> alon� the horizontal plane representin� the shortest distance between the two ed�es of <br /> the surface area available and retained for pedestrian access. Sidewalk measurement is <br /> not related to face of curb, propertv line, or anv other dimension. Exceptions to <br /> minimum sidewalk width for encroachments such as outdoor dinin�, street trees, and <br /> street furniture shall applv as outlined in this Section 54.5. <br /> 2. Minimum sidewalk width for secondary streets. Minimum sidewalk width for <br /> secondary streets, as defined in Table 54-2, shall achieve consistency with existin� <br /> sidewalk conditions while enhancin� the pedestrian environment. Requirements for <br /> minimum sidewalk widths on secondary streets shall be determined by the responsible <br /> review authority on a case by case basis. <br /> 3. Street Trees Required. Street trees are required alon� public streets.
