A 6.4.A. - Page 77 <br /> 3. Automobile Service Uses. <br /> a. Malor Automobile Service Use Restrictions. All maior vehicle/equipment repair, <br /> restoration, and stora�e areas and operations shall occur within an enclosed <br /> buildin�. Used or dama�ed equipment removed from vehicles durin� the repair <br /> process shall be stored indoors or shall be deposited in an approved covered <br /> outdoor collection receptacle for appropriate off-site disposal. Outdoor stora�e and <br /> work areas are prohibited. <br /> b. Automobile Service Bav Screenin� and Location. Service bavs for vehicle repair <br /> (maior and minor), restoration, and stora�e shall be screened from direct view from <br /> a public ri�ht-of-wav and private properties. If service bavs face a street, the service <br /> bavs shall be situated parallel to a secondarv street or allev, or adequate screened <br /> bv structures. <br /> 55.3 New Streets and Pathwavs Re�ulations <br /> A. New Streets. Sites in excess of one acre shall be desi�ned to provide block and street <br /> patterns consistent with the adiacent properties and/or surroundin� contextual <br /> environment. New streets shall establish a pedestrian-friendlv interconnected street <br /> network, with no block face exceedin� 400 feet in len�th, unless determined bv the <br /> responsible review authoritv to be infeasible due to location of rail lines alon� the block or <br /> other insurmountable existin� conditions. <br /> B. Street and Pathwav Connectivity. New development shall maintain and enhance <br /> pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and vehicle connectivity with a hierarchy of streets and <br /> pathways, consistent with the street typolo�y identified in the Redwood City General Plan <br /> (Fi�ure BE-14). Primary pedestrian access to buildin�s shall be from the sidewalk. <br /> C. Pedestrian-Oriented Desi�n/Pedestrian Access. The desi�n of new proiects shall promote <br /> walkability and connectivity to include desi�n and orientation standards such as: <br /> 1. Enhanced Streetscapes. Streetscapes shall be enhanced with enriched streetscape <br /> elements, includin� but not limited to a varietv of landscapin� and pedestrian amenities, <br /> such as benches, pedestrian-scaled li�htin�, trash enclosures, and bicvcle stora�e. <br /> 2. Internal Connections. A svstem of pedestrian walkwavs shall connect all buildin�s on a <br /> site to each other, to on-site automobile and bicvcle parkin� areas, and to anv on-site <br /> open space areas and pedestrian amenities. <br /> 3. Internal Pedestrian Walkwavs Width. Internal walkwavs shall be a minimum of six feet <br /> wide where located adiacent to anv common open space areas.
