For <br /> example, the California Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) mandates that 33 percent of <br /> electricity sold by the State's investor-owned utilities be generated from renewable resources by <br /> 2020. These actions were summarized in Section 1.5 of this report. The goal was selected to be consistent with the AB 32 Scoping <br /> Plan and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District guidelines for a qualified GHG emission <br /> reduction strategy and because it is achievable by City-supported measures identified in the <br /> CAP. <br /> Figure 7 below illustrates how the business-as-usual <br /> emissions are estimated to increase, thus widening the The City of Redwood City is <br /> emissions reductions needed by 2020.
