The
Agreement was in the amount of $35,000. On January 9, 2013, the City approved
Amendment Number 1, executing an agreement with NBBJ for design, contract
documents, cost estimates and pre-construction support services. Amendment Number
1 was in the amount of $106,000. This project provides for improved security and
operational efficiencies in the City Manager, City Attorney and Community Development
Director's Office areas.
ANALYSIS
The recommended building changes provide for improved security, as well as improved
operational efficiency for more effective staff communication and work flow. The new
designs allow for administrative staff to remain close to their respective departments
and co-workers, and better configure the building for meeting space and
teleconferencing.
NBBJ completed Schematic Design of the improvements and conceptual cost
estimates. Through the First Amendment to the Agreement, NBBJ produced and
delivered as scheduled, Construction and Bid Documents, Construction Cost Estimates,
and provided Bid Support services. The Second Amendment to the Agreement will
allow the Consultant to provide additional design services and construction
administration support during the construction phase of the project.
The second amended agreement brings the total Agreement to $200,357 and is based
on the consultants' hourly rate schedule. Construction documents and cost estimates
were completed as scheduled. Bids for the project opened on May 2, 2013. Staff
