MM AIR 1-7: All construction equipment shall be maintained and properly tuned in
accordance with manufacturer's specifications. All equipment shall be
checked by a certified mechanic and determined to be running in proper
condition prior to operation.
MM QIR 1-8: Post a publicly visible sign with the telephone number and person to contact
at the Lead Agency regarding dust complaints. This person shall respond and
take corrective action within 48 hours. The Air District's phone number shall
also be visible to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Odors
The project would generate localized emissions of diesel exhaust during construction due to
equipment operation and heavy truck activity. These emissions may be noticeable from time to time
by adjacent receptors. Odors would, however,be localized and temporary and would not
significantly affect people off-site. Operation of the proposed project would not generate any odors
that would affect persons off-site. The project site is not affected by existing odor sources that would
cause odor complaints. (Less Than Significant Impact)
4.3.4 Conclusion
The project would not result in significant operational regional or local air quality impacts.
Implementation of the above-described mitigation measures promulgated by BAAQMD would
reduce short-term construction-related air quality impacts to a less than significant level. The project
would not expose sensitive receptors to substantial pollutant concentrations.
