EXHIBIT A <br /> SHINNYO-EN FOUNDATION GRANT <br /> TO <br /> REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br /> FOR <br /> "Stanford Public Interest Network(SPIN)Fellowship Program in 2013"PROJECT <br /> Grant Goal(s)• <br /> Goals and Objectives: The SPIN Fellowship Program aims to <br /> - recruit talented students to work in the public interest, <br /> • assist public interest organizations in finding qual�ed staff, and <br /> • engage alumni working in and committed to public service, and assist public interest <br /> organizations in finding qualified staff. <br /> The use of a SPIN Fellow in partnership with the John W. Gardner Center(JGC)and the <br /> Haas Center offers RWC 2020 the opporhmity to assess the organizational steps it must <br /> take to build and sustain its outcome evaluation efforts. <br /> At the end of this project, RWC 2020 hopes to have achieved the following outcomes: <br /> ■ increased the capacity of RWC 2020 to work with the JGC to assess the results of <br /> their individual initiatives and identify cross-initiative implications, <br /> ■ developed strategies to coordinate more effectively the data collection and <br /> analysis processes within specific initiative azeas, <br /> ■ refined the current initiative-specific approach to using reseazch fmdings as the <br /> basis for action steps, <br /> • started to examine findings from all reseazch projects to identify opportunities to <br /> better integrate the work across initiatives, <br /> ■ designed an outcome evaluation approach for the Hoover Family Learning Hours <br /> Pilot,and, <br /> ■ confirmed the value of a dedicated position within RWC 2020 to focus on <br /> outcome evaluation. <br /> * Any changes or adjustments to the grant goals or objectives must be reviewed by and <br /> have the prior approval of the Foundation. <br />
