The Redwood City Fire Department will staff Fire Station 13 located <br /> at 525 Laurel Street and Fire Station 16 located at 1280 Alameda de Las Pulgas. <br /> Services will include the initial response of a qualified command officer (Battalion Chief <br /> or higher)to all incidents requiring response under the protocols used by Fire Departments located <br /> in San Mateo County. A command officer will be available 24/7 with a response travel time <br /> average not to exceed ten minutes absent unusual circumstances. In addition to response activities, <br /> the command officers will coordinate the daily staffing of the two fire stations located in San <br /> Carlos and supervise station personnel during emergency and daily routine activities. <br /> C. Truck Company Services <br /> Truck service is essential to emergency response and will be provided by Redwood City <br /> "Truck 9" out of Fire Station 9. Typical responsibilities of Truck Company personnel include <br /> conducting primary search, rescuing trapped victims, ventilation, forcible entry, laddering the fire <br /> building, checking for fire extension, accessing concealed spaces, providing ladder-pipe water <br /> application, providing above ground access, extricating victims from vehicle collisions with the <br /> Jaws of Life, performing complex rope and other technical rescue operations. Truck Company <br /> functions are essential to support suppression efforts of Engine Company personneL Truck <br /> response is required for structure fires in the region. It is understood that Redwood City will <br /> provide Truck Service at no additional cost to San Carlos in consideration of Redwood City's <br /> ability to utilize relief staff out of Fire Stations 13 and 16. Relief staff may be utilized at Redwood <br /> City's sole discretion to offset vacancies in either the San Carlos Fire Department or the Redwood <br /> City Fire Department. As a result, no other compensation for Truck Service will be required. <br /> D. Fire Prevention, Code Enforcement and Investigation Services <br /> Fire prevention oversight and management will be provided by the Redwood City Fire Marshal <br /> located at Fire Administration in Redwood City. The fire prevention workload includes plan <br /> checking, permit management, fire code enforcement, public education, and fire investigation <br /> services. <br /> E. Emergency Preparedness Services <br /> Emergency preparedness services will be provided by the Redwood City Fire Department. <br /> The following are examples of services that will be provided: <br /> • Develop and evaluate plans for disaster preparedness <br /> • Develop, train and maintain CERT <br /> • Monitor public awareness and evaluate training needs <br /> • Develop and provide public education services <br /> • Assist with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) <br /> ATTY/AGR/2013.101/AMENDED AND RESTATED SAN CARLOS- RWC FIRE AGREEMENT <br /> REV:06-19-13 VR <br /> Page 16 of 19 <br /> RESO.15272 <br /> MUFF#304 <br />
