06/24/2013 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 15273 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO ESTABLISH THE CLASSIFICATION OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND OUTREACH COORDINATOR WHEREAS, the Redwood City Fire Chief has requested that the classification of Emergency Preparedness and Outreach Coordinator be established; and WHEREAS, it was determined that the classification should be created to better support emergency preparedness planning, training, and outreach to Redwood City residents and to better serve the needs of the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the classification specifications of the Emergency Preparedness and Outreach Coordinator were prepared by the City's Human Resources Department and Fire Department to ensure the needs of the community and City were met; and WHEREAS, it was determined that the Emergency Preparedness and Outreach Coordinator classification should be included in the Redwood City Management Association (RCMEA) and established with a pay range of$6,553 - $7,862 per month; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. 2. The City's Classification and Salary Plan is hereby amended to establish the classification of Emergency Preparedness and Outreach Coordinator, with the duties and required qualifications as set forth in the job description attached as Exhibit A, with a pay range of $6,553 - $7,862 per month, and inclusion in the Redwood City Management Association (RCMEA) bargaining unit. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
