The deleti.gn of the .requested additional stenographer for the City Attorney was <br />discussed. City /Attorney stated that in his estimation. the additional stenographer <br />be1nf; <br />was needed principally for the extraordinary typing and filing load which teas/created <br />by the necessary property acquisitions for UD 1-65, 2-65, 3-65. he pointed out <br />t:ha.t, the principal portion of the cost of the stenographer and a typewriter for her <br />use would be chartable to the districts which created the need for additional per- <br />sonnel. On motion. of Councilman TrecYley seconded by Councilman Petersen, the <br />additional stenographer was ordered restored to the City Attorney's budget. Motion <br />carried with. Councilman Rosselli and Mayor Herkner voting no. (MTNUTF ORDER <br />The Planning Department request for zoning technician was discussed. City Manager ex- <br />plained that this particular person was needed in order to mare possible enforcement <br />of zoning regulations and correction of existing violations. Councilman Keckley <br />stated that from his experience on the Planning Commission, he was aware that the <br />present zoning administrator had a work load that precluded his being able to pur- <br />sne ind correct all of the existing zoning Volat.iens . The Toning technician was <br />thorofore left in Planning Dnoartmant budget. <br />Tn studying the propared budget for community promotion, Councilman 7nsselli ex-- <br />pressed his hire that an annual report would indeed be issued dur i ry the nort. <br />fiscal .year. Councilman Pury discussed the coming Centennial and suggest:od that <br />our annual rnnort should be built around the Centennial theme. Council liscussed <br />requested appropriation for the Chamber of Commerov.
