Tt was also recommended that developer be required to take the necessary action to <br />preclude the lot shown between Lot 5 and Lot 6 from being closer than 20' to the Wayne <br />Court East right-of-way line and that this triangular parcel of land be made a part of <br />Lot 6. Staff analysis reported this block is the one remaining large block in the <br />Friendly Acres area to be redeveloped with an interior street system, plan lines <br />for this block having been set last year and that subdivision concurs with the <br />established plan lines. Staff concurred exceptions be granted as recommended by the <br />Planning Commission and as shown on slide. Councilman Petersen questioned Fire <br />Chief as to accessibility of this site to fire equipment. <br />Fire Chief stated in spite of narrow street access was possible, and better to be <br />subdivided than left undeveloped without any access to interior. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 4938 AUTHORIZING EXCEPTION TO <br />CERTAIN :PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, BEING <br />THE SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY - "JAYNE COURT EAST SUB- <br />DIVISTON, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried on roil call vote. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0. 4939 REQUESTING ADJUSTMENT TO TIMING <br />OF OFFICIAL TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS AT INTERSECTION OF EL CAMINO REAL AND <br />ROOSEVELT AVENUE. <br />Councilman advised this was considered an interim measure for making left hand <br />turns less hazardous at this intersection until opening of Oak Street and left <br />turn storage lanes as planned. Motion seconded by Councilman Granger and carried <br />on .roll call vote. <br />Request for authorization of Laurel '.'ay Improvements, Highland Avenue to Westerly City <br />Limits, presented for consideration. Council was advised petition. has been received <br />signed by approximately 92% of the owners of property within the proposed assess- <br />ment district. Council also advised that the owner of one lot signed in antici- <br />pation that half street improvements would be constructed adjacent to this property, <br />which would involve County approval. Slide shown of area and described by Staff. <br />Councilman Petersen questioned other problems which might be connected with this <br />area, plans concerning connecting streets, long cul-de-sac difficulties, and <br />expressed his opposition until problems discussed more thoroughly. Councilman <br />Royer moved to authorize preparation of plans and specification for improvement of <br />Laurel Way, Highland Avenue to Westerly City Limits; acquisition of needed slope <br />easements; appointment of an Attorney for the District, seconded by Councilman Bury <br />and carried, Councilman Petersen voting no. (MINUTE ORDER E66-51) <br />Charles Olivia, representing Peninsula General Contractors <br />Association, asked that Council continue for 1 week the <br />adoption of Ordinance establishing requirements for pre- <br />liminary soil reports on proposed subdivisions as their <br />Association Committee had been unable to meet because of <br />illness since this proposed ordinance had been submitted <br />to them for review. <br />Mayor Rosselli stated ordinance only pertains to requiraments now demanded by State <br />legislation, but would recommend continuance as requested. Councilman Herkner moved <br />to continue action on adoption of this ordinance for one week as requested, seconded <br />by Councilman Petersen and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #00 <br />"-52) <br />
