Certificate of Recognition - George Maher, Eagl'e Scout - Alicia C. <br /> Aguirre, Mayor <br /> Mayor Aguirre invited Mr. Maher to the podium and explained why his Eagle Scout rank <br /> was delayed by close to 70 years. She provided details on his professional journey. He <br /> was very appreciative of the honor and thanked the Council for the recognition. Mr. <br /> Maher was presented with a Certificate of Recognition. <br /> 6. PUBLIC COMMENT AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Janet Borgens commented positively on being able to participate for the second time on <br /> the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training program in Redwood City. <br /> She spoke highly of the training, the staff organizing it, and the level of involvement from <br /> volunteers. She appreciates the partnership with Belmont, San Carlos and Foster City <br /> so that the community is well-trained and well-prepared to help others in the event of a <br /> disaster. <br /> CITY COUNCIL: Waive reading of the consent calendar and the full text of ordinances <br /> and resolutions, and approve the Consent Calendar items. <br /> M/S Seybert/Ira to approve the Consent Calendar excluding agenda item 6.16. Motion <br /> carries unanimously by electronic vote. � <br /> One Council Member made comments about agenda item 6.1 H and how the Council is <br /> not spending this amount of money on a birdbath but this was a donation that was set► <br /> for this specific purpose. He wanted to make sure the public is aware that no general <br /> fund money is being spent on this item. <br /> Council Members Bain and Pierce /eave the dais. <br /> M/S Seybert/Gee to approve Consent Calendar item 6.1.B.
