Development within the DTPP area has already been contemplated in, and is consistent with, adopted plans
(particularly the Redwood City General Plan) and the environmental documents prepared for those plans, and such
development will not represent growth for which adequate planning has not occurred. No significant adverse
growth-inducing impacts were anticipated from the DTPP or individual development projects occurring consistent
with the DTPP. Moreover, the City's General Plan has identified the Downtown as an appropriate area of the city
to accommodate future growth due to its walkable nature, transit access, and existing infrastructure. In addition,
Downtown has been designated by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) as a"Priority Development
Area" and will be encouraged to accommodate growth as part of the regional Sustainable Communities Strategy for
reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The proposed amendments would not result in arry new land uses that would
require additional analysis and the project is in compliance with all applicable DTPP regulations, and as a result,
no additional population/housing impacts are anticipated.
b. & c. The DTPP EIR (pp. 5-8 through 5-10) concluded that the DTPP, and projects facilitated by it, would not result
in significant displacement impacts. The project will not displace arry housing or residents.
Summary of Impacts
Potentially Less than Significant Less than
Significant With Mitigation Significant No
Im act Incor orated Im act Im act
XIV. PUBLIC SERVICES -- Would the project:
a) Result in substantial adverse physical impacts associated with the provision of
new or physically altered governmental facilities or the need for new or
physically altered governmental facilities, the construction of which could
cause significant environmental impacts, in order to maintain acceptable
service ratios, response times or other performance objectives for any of the
public services:
Fire protection? Neither adoption of the proposed amendments, nor implementation of the proposed project will result in substantial
physical impacts associated with the provision of new or physically altered governmental facilities or the need for a
new or physically altered governmental facilities in order to maintain acceptable service ratios, response times, or
other performance objectives beyond those identified in the DTPP EIR (pp. 8-1 through 8-21).
