Park and Recreation Commission Page 3 <br /> Minutes of September 26, 2007 <br /> ° and would look at his budget to see if the Police Department could help fund <br /> a park ranger for a six month pilot program. Director Centeno stated the <br /> ranger would be used at Red Morton and Hoover Parks in the pilot program <br /> and that Superintendent Hover will be developing a budget for the program. <br /> -Hoover Park Renovation Project <br /> Commissioner Sargent reported on the second public meeting held at Hoover <br /> Park on September 8 and felt it was a good meeting. He noted that <br /> everyone was in agreement on the park design, except for the handball <br /> courts. Director Centeno stated the architect was asked to make some <br /> modifications to the handball court in the park design. <br /> -Solari Windmill <br /> The Windmill Celebration will be held on October 20 at 12noon at Union <br /> Cemetery. <br /> ITEM 4 — STAFF UPDATES <br /> -Park Development Ordinance (PDO) <br /> Director Centeno stated the PDO went to the City Council on September 10 <br /> and staff was advised by the City Attorney that some of the ordinance <br /> needed to be re-written. As a result, the PDO will go back for another first <br /> reading on October 8, a second reading on October 22, and will go into effect <br /> 60 days later. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Director Centeno announced the annual Board and Commission event has <br /> tentatively been scheduled for December 7. <br /> -Superintendent Beth announced activities in Court House Square: <br /> • '�Scare in the Square" event for October 13, 20 and 27 <br /> • "Dia de los Muertos" event on Friday, November 3 <br /> ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA <br /> -Annual Report, Election of 2008 Officers (November), Commissioners to <br /> bring their calendars <br /> The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br /> at 8:26pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at <br /> the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
