-Commissioner Saye commented on the spec#acular presentation of "Music <br /> Man" at the Fox Theater. He also said the grand opening of the Art Center on <br /> November 17 was an exceptional evening. <br /> -Commissioner Fischer participated in the Kiwanis Shopping Day and lunch <br /> for underprivileged children and mentioned how much these children really <br /> are lacking. She noted that the Commission should try to help service groups <br /> who do so much for children in our community. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle attended the Redwood City Art Center Grand Opening <br /> and mentioned a sign acknowledging the Commission's support of the <br /> musical entertainment was on display. She also participated in the <br /> November 9 workshop entitled "How to Form an Arts Commission" <br /> sponsored by the San I��ateo County Arts Council. She noted that 17 people <br /> attended the event representing 7 to 8 cities. <br /> M/S Piulle/Filippi: To extend the meeting 10 minutes. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> -Chairperson Redington mentioned he also attended the Art Center Grand <br /> Opening and the City Council meeting where the mural guidelines were <br /> presented. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -The San Mateo County Arts Council will be sending out the nomination <br /> forms for the Arts Star Awards. This item will be placed on the January agenda. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi said h� would like to consider putting together a "new <br /> commissioner" packet and asked everyone to bring things they would like to <br /> see included. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned at <br /> 9:52pm to be reconvened at 7:OOpm on Thursday, January 4, 1996 to be held at <br /> the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
