The press release was discussed by the Commissioners. <br /> -Percentage for the Arts - Redwood Shores Community Center <br /> Chairperson Piulle announced there are no funds available for art at the new <br /> Redwood Shores Community Center but she will continue to attend the <br /> meetings. <br /> The Hoover Mural Project Sub-Committee will meet and report back next <br /> meeting. <br /> Continuation of Item 8 - Correspondence: <br /> -A thank you note was received from Julie Hannon. <br /> -Free tickets to Sugarloaf Art Fair to be held at San Mateo County Expo on <br /> November 8-10. <br /> -San Mateo County Arts Council newsletter featuring a notice from the <br /> Vintage Music Theater thanking the Commission for their support. <br /> M/S Filippi/Britschgi: To extend the meeting to 9:55pm. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> ITEM 9-EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended the San Mateo County Arts Council Arts Star <br /> Awards luncheon where the Redwood City Art Center received an award; <br /> attendance was poor. <br /> -Commissioner Distefano attended the "Wurst Fest" presented by Joe Staudt. <br /> -Chairperson Piulle attended the opening of Friendship Park; it was well <br /> attended and well received by the neighborhood. She also attended the <br /> American Repertory Ballet Theater (ARBT) presentation at the Fox Theater <br /> recently; there were only 75 people or less in attendance. Superintendent <br /> Centeno announced a grant application was just received from ARBT for <br /> support of the above mentioned event. The Commissioners indicated they <br /> have set a precedent of not granting funds to events which have already <br /> occurred. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi spoke with Charles Jany who stated that the <br /> committee who originally installed the Arguello bust would like it to be <br /> relocated beneath the new Climate Best sign at Broadway and Marshall and <br /> they also want the lawn area to be named Arguello Park. There will also be a <br />
