Civic Cultura! Commission Page 4 <br /> Minutes of January 2, 1997 <br /> acting abilities. Cost would be $40.00 per student as compared to $400.00 in his <br /> acting school and $1,200.00 in San Francisco acting schools. He discussed <br /> grant procedures with the Commissioners. <br /> ITEM 6-CONTINUANCE OF FAMILY ARTS DAY PROGRAM <br /> Chairperson Piulle advised the Commissioners that the San Mateo County <br /> Arts Council has applied for a grant to Target for the 1997 Families Arts Day. <br /> She spoke with Angela Kirkner about the Commission doing the program <br /> themselves and Angela advised her it would cost approximately $2,600.00. <br /> The Commissioners discussed last year's program and several felt it was <br /> successful and that we should contact the Arts Council about this year's <br /> program. <br /> M/S Distefano/Redington: To send a letter to the Art Council to see if <br /> they are still interested in doing Families Arts Day with <br /> the Commission. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Commissioner Filippi asked to have Matias Varela at the February meeting. <br /> TTEM 7•SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -PACTAC <br /> There will be a PACTAC meeting in January. <br /> -Publicity <br /> The Commissioners discussed the cost of having a Summer Concert Series <br /> insert placed in the water bilis. Chairperson Piulle noted she researched the <br /> cost last year and the Commission did not want to spend the $500.00 for the <br /> insert printing. <br /> The Commissioners discussed making sure the School District and parents <br /> are aware of the many programs the Commission sponsors for the students. <br /> Commissioner Filippi suggested having someone from RESCUE work with <br /> the Commission to coordinate efforts. Commissioners Distefano and Saye <br /> will investigate with the School District installing signs at the entrance to <br /> schools with the dance program. <br /> •"Tis the Season Holiday Event <br /> Commissioner Ball thanked Commissioner Distefano for her coverage of all <br /> of the 'Tis the Season activities. She also displayed the scrapbook of publicity <br /> she complied for the entire event. She announced the committee will be <br /> meeting on January 7 and all participating groups will cridque the program. <br />
