/( <br /> Civic Cu/tu�al Commission Page 3 <br /> Minutes of December 4, 1997 <br /> M/S Distefano/Saye: To send a thank you letter to the production crew of <br /> the Redwood City Tribune for a job well done on the insert. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Chairperson Ball discussed the arrangements made for the tree lighting <br /> ceremony on Friday, December 5`" and the parade on Saturday, December <br /> sm <br /> Commissioner Saye left the meeting at 8:OOpm. <br /> Chairperson Ball announced that fireworks are planned after the completion <br /> of the parade and post parade production; fundraising efforts for the <br /> fireworks are 5400.00 short. <br /> -Publicity <br /> Publicity update included in Tis the Season report. <br /> -Public Art <br /> Commissioner Piulle reported the meeting to discuss City Hall art space has <br /> been postponed until January. <br /> -Summer Concerts <br /> A meeting of this sub-committee will be held in January with Manager Julie <br /> Hannon. <br /> -Youth and Special Events <br /> Commissioner Britschgi is in the process of contacting a representative from <br /> the Redwood City Elementary School District. <br /> -Banner Policy <br /> It was announced that Sequoia High School will no longer allow banners to <br /> be placed on its fences. <br /> -Budget Committee <br /> This sub-committee will meet in January. <br /> The Commissioners discussed the letter from Loretta Thomas regarding her <br /> comment that the Fox Theater/Peninsula Center Stage was omitted from the <br /> Tis the Season program. Chairperson Ball discussed the fact that this is the <br /> second year of the Tis the Season and that no one on the sub-committee or <br /> staff has received a call from PCS regarding their wanting to be included in <br /> the program; if PCS was interested in being on the Tis the Season program, <br /> all they needed to do was call; Tis the Season is a committee of volunteers <br /> throughout the community who have devoted many, many hours of time to <br /> this program; PCS was not omitted intentionally. <br /> M/S Piulle/Distefano: To answer Ms. Thomas's letter indicating that if PCS <br /> or any other group is interested in joining the Tis the <br /> Season 1998 Committee, to please contact us. <br /> Motion passed. <br />
