Civic Cuftural Commission August 7, 1997 <br /> Minutes 3 <br /> MSA Britschgi/Distefano to table Vintage Music Theater grant request until <br /> the Commission has word from Council regarding additional funding. <br /> Unanimously approved. <br /> Commissioners asked further questions of Redwood City International <br /> President Devencenzi regarding costs of the Canada College performance and <br /> which costs were being underwritten by business. <br /> MSA Piulle/Redington to provide $1,500 to Redwood City <br /> International to support a performance at Canada College. Motion <br /> failed on the following roll call vote: (2-2) <br /> Yes: Redington and Saye No: Ball, Britschgi Commissioners Distefano and <br /> Saye abstained from the vote due to their membership in Redwood City <br /> International. <br /> MSA Britschgi/Redington to provide $500 to Redwood City <br /> International to support a performance at Canada College. Motion <br /> passed on the following roll call vote: (3-1) <br /> Yes: Distefano, Piulle and Redington No: Ball Commissioners Distefano and <br /> Saye abstained. <br /> MSA Piulle/Saye to support Redwood City International in their <br /> request for further funding from the Peninsula Community <br /> Foundation and in its efforts to cultivate international cultural <br /> experiences for Redwood City residents. <br /> The Chairperson called for a brief recess at 8:45 p.m. and called the meeting <br /> back to order at 8:55 p.m. <br /> Item 3 Subcommittee Reports <br /> Publicity - Distefano <br /> Commissioner Piulle asked for follow-up with the Chamber on getting the <br /> Summer Concerts on their event hotline and asked the Commission <br /> chairperson to share our concem that neither the Cultural Commission nor the <br /> Climate Best Fest was mentioned in publicity for the Port 60th Anniversary. <br /> Commissioner Distefano noted she would do a follow up article on the Climate <br /> Best Festival. <br /> Tis the Season Event - Ball <br /> Chairperson Ball reported on the upcoming meeting of the Tis the Season <br /> committee on 8/27/97 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Activities Building. <br /> Public Art - Piulle <br /> Commissioner Piulle noted there was nothing new to report. <br />
