Civic Cultural Commission Page 2 <br /> Minutes of April 28, 1998 <br /> M/S Redington/Distefano: To support the Library Board in their new process <br /> of using Sequoia Art Group to manage the <br /> selection process for the Library art exhibit wall. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> The following item was taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 3 — SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Summer Concerts <br /> Chairperson Ball reported that contracts had been signed with all groups for <br /> the concerts with the exception of Peninsuta Youth Symphony. The <br /> symphony will confirm their ability to perform by next week. <br /> Tis the Season <br /> Chairperson Ball reported that the last meeting of the group was cancelled <br /> and has yet to be rescheduled. <br /> Commissioner Britschgi distributed flyers for the May 16 and 17 Sunftower <br /> Festival in downtown Redwood City. <br /> All other agenda Items were tabled so that the Commission could develop <br /> information for an upcoming meeting with City Council on May 4, 1998. <br /> ITEM 2 — DISCUSSION OF UPCOMING STUDY SESSION WITH CITY <br /> COUNCIL AND BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> Superintendent Centeno thanked Commissioners for their willingness to hold <br /> a special meeting to prepare for the May 4`'' Council meeting. The <br /> Commissioners developed a brainstormed list of their areas of concerns, <br /> ways to improve communication with the Council, and cultural trends for <br /> review by the Councit and agreed to include current year budget information <br /> and funding guidelines in the packet. (See attached materials.) <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> There were no announcements. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned at <br /> 9:15pm to be reconvened at 7:OOpm on Thursday, June 4, 1998 at the <br /> Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
