Civic Cukural Commission Page 6 Minutes of June 1, 2000 ' Total grants given out $34,550. Total requests received $42,335. I"�"EM 3 - LEDESMA PAIIVTINGS Commissioner Saye handed out an inventory he completed on the eight Ledesma paintings located at City Hall. He felt that the paintings should be hanging in more visible public areas. Superintendent Centeno exptained that the Commission asked the Redwood City Art Center to handle rotating the art work in the gallery. As a result, the Ledesmas needed to be re-hung in another location. She gave several suggestions to the Commission and asked for direction. Chairperson Redington requested that the Public Art Sub-Committee meet and locate a suitable place for the Ledesma paintings to be hung on a permanent basis. Commissioner Britschgi announced that several Ledesma paintings have become available for purchase at the Art Center. She selected four of the paintings and brought three to this evening's meeting for the Commissioners to review. She stated that we can purchase the four framed Ledesmas for $1,200.00.
